52% OF AFRICA'S CITIZENS HAVE ACCESS TO THE HEALTHCARE THEY NEED AND THE FAMILY PLANNING NEEDS OF MOST OF THE CONTINENT’S WOMEN AND GIRLS ARE UNMET...

This is according to a report at the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC).

“Achieving UHC require investments in resilient health systems, especially in strong primary health care with an emphasis on promoting health and preventing disease,”  Dir. Gen. Dr Tedros Adhamon Ghebreyesus, World Health Organisation.

Many are denied access to quality healthcare due to lack of properly trained personnel, limited contraceptive and family planning education and poor healthcare funding.
